Originally from Grenville, Quebec, Johanne was influenced by her parents and paternal grandparents. Her musical journey began at the age of two when she won first prize in a competition. At five, she sang alto in the parish choir. From 1976 to 1984, she was a chorister and soloist with the Mélodia Choir in Hawkesbury and a member of the Troupe Jeune Un Jour, Jeune Toujours in St-Eugène. In the early 2000s, she performed several times at the Théâtre Le Petit Champlain in Old Quebec City, in addition to singing in a show with Roland Martel's Big Band and for other artists.
A singer-songwriter, she has several songs to her credit, including three published with a book by author Gilianne Fortin in France and Quebec. She has also been a frequent guest artist with internationally renowned pianist Richard Abel. In 2025, she participated in jam sessions with jazz pianist Didier Chasteau and his musicians. A dream come true: singing jazz! She also offers comfort by lending her talent to grieving families during private and religious funeral services.
For her, music is life! When the radio... it's about turning it back on and letting your heart speak!
