Zale Seck is an acclaimed singer, composer, musician, and dancer who performs on both national and international stages. An accomplished percussionist and guitarist, he performs authentic griot music, carrying forward the stories, traditions, values, and collective memory of the Lebou people of Senegal.
Since 2008, he has been teaching djembe in Quebec and Ontario, sharing not only his lived experience but also his knowledge of traditional Senegalese rhythms with a wide and diverse audience. His classes combine the pleasure of playing together with the discovery of new rhythms, creating space to express the shared joy that this music inspires.
